Bruins hand Devils 5-1 setback
Mike Pandolfo scores lone goal for Lowell

LOWELL, Mass. The Providence Bruins (6-1-0-0) scored three times in the third period to turn a close game into a 5-1 victory over the Lowell Devils (4-4-0-0) Saturday afternoon at Tsongas Arena.

The Devils got on the board first, jumping out to an early 1-0 lead when Mike Pandolfo blasted home his first of the season just 33 seconds into the game.  Stephen Gionta and Olivier Magnan-Grenier assisted on the tally.  Byron Bitz evened the score at 12:52 of the first period, and Providence outshot the Devils 8-4 in the first.

Chris Collins beat Devils G Frank Doyle for his second of the season at 6:07 of the second period, and the Bruins never looked back.  They held a 15-7 shot advantage in the middle frame, while Bruins G Tuukka Rask kept the Devils at bay the rest of the way.

Providence added third period tallies by Pascal Pelletier, who scored at 7:10 and 14:37, and Vladimir Sobotka, who scored shorthanded at 18:57.  A 19-1 lead in third period shots for Providence gave them an overall lead of 42-12 in the game, and snapped the Devils modest two-game winning streak.
