LOWELL, Mass. – The Lowell Devils announced that the third and final player bobblehead of the 2008-09 season, the corningstone of the team's Fan Appreciation Night, will honor goaltender Scott Clemmensen.
The souvenirs will be given out on Saturday, April 4 when the Devils host the Springfield Falcons at 7:00pm on Fan Appreciation Night. The first 2,000 fans in attendance at the game will receive a bobblehead, courtesy of Fallon Community Health Plan. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the game early for the best chance of getting one of the limited number of bobbleheads.
Originally selected by New Jersey in the 1997 Entry Draft, the five-year NHL veteran returned to the organization for the 2008-09 campaign after spending one season with the Toronto Marlies (AHL). The Des Moines, Iowa native began the year with Lowell, but was called up to the NHL after a severe arm injury felled New Jersey netminder Martin Brodeur.
Clemmensen performed admirably in the All-Star goalie's absence, shattering his career highs in games (40), minutes (2536), wins (25), and tying a career high in shutouts (2) while leading the Devils to the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. Upon Brodeur's return from injury in late February, Clemmensen returned to Lowell, where he ranks second on the team with five wins on the season.
Make sure you are in attendance on Saturday, April 4 for Scott Clemmensen Bobblehead Night! Don't miss your chance to help commemorate a remarkable season!
